  Gregg's Bus service will running a half hour loop from Dravo Plaza (Shipyard Shops in Wilmington), AAA Building, Tubman Garrett Park (near the train station), and the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard from 11:00am till 7:00pm on July 2nd and July 4th.

Kalmar Nyckel Foundation is pleased to announce “A Gathering of Tall Ships – 2006” to be held July 2-4, 2006 at the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard on the Christina River.  Plans are underway to welcome the schooner Martha White of Chestertown, MD , Skipjack Martha Lewis from Havre de Grace, MD and Half Moon, of Albany, NY, a replica ship of the1609 Dutch ship Halve Maen and the Norseman, a 40-ft. replica Viking long ship to the Kalmar Nyckel shipyard.  Activities include deck tours of Half Moon, river sails on skipjack Martha Lewis and Kalmar Nyckel, a crab feast (SOLD OUT) on Sunday, July 2, 2006, and other shipyard activities (blacksmithing, carving, and 17th century games for all ages).

 

Kalmar Nyckel Foundation will be requesting a donation of $5.00 a person for anyone over 12 years of age. Children accompanied by an adult 12 and under will be admitted free. This entrance fee entitles the person to tour the shipyard and enjoy a deck tours of all the ships and participate in shipyard activities. An additional fee will be charged for cruising.

 

The crab feast to be held, July 2, 2006, from 6:00pm-9:00pm will welcome Captains and crews from the visiting vessels to the Wilmington shores at the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard. A $35 donation a person is being requested for anyone over 12 years of age, $15 donation for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult. Music, refreshments and crew competitions are being planned for the evening
