Interested in volunteering with the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation? Attend one of our free Volunteer Open Houses and events offered each fall and winter. Meet our crew, learn about the many ways to get involved, and enjoy a guided tour of Kalmar Nyckel, our ship maintenance shops, and the Copeland Maritime Center.
Volunteer Recruitment Open Houses
Learn to sail and maintain Kalmar Nyckel, become an educator or tour guide, and help at festivals and community events through our year-round volunteer program.
Join us for a two-hour Volunteer Open House to learn about crew training and current volunteer opportunities, tour Delaware’s Tall Ship and Maintenance Shops, and explore the Copeland Maritime Center. Please plan to attend the full session, which includes an information presentation and guided ship tour.
