Classroom Programs
From Voyage Across the Sea to Five Ways to Freedom, and custom lessons, our classroom programs are designed to excite and engage students of all ages. Voyage Across the Sea is generously underwritten by Discover® and available free of charge. We have also partnered with the Delaware Department of Education to offer curriculum units for 4th, 5th and 12th grades.
Voyage Across the Sea
Voyage Across the Sea is a newly re-named hands-on classroom program that asks students to apply important economic concepts to the colonial Delaware experience. With an updated foundation and more new pieces, the lesson asks students to explore gains from trade, choice, scarcity, and specialization in this historical context. Their goal is to plan a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean and choose both people with the necessary skills as well as the supplies and trade goods that allow them to succesfully survive and establish a new home in the Delaware Valley.
