Scout Day 2026

Saturday, September 12 • 2 Sessions at 9 am & 1 pm


Whether you come with your troop, a few scout friends, or on your own, Scout Day is a fantastic opportunity to meet other Scouts while enjoying a day of outdoor adventure, teamwork, and maritime fun! Scouts will rotate through a series of hands-on, sea-themed activity stations across the Copeland Maritime Center campus, including:


Rain Gutter Regatta

Outdoor Adventure Course

Knot Tying

• Sea Chanteys

• Cannon Drills


Participants will be assigned to groups and rotate through each station during their session.


Morning Session

Check-in: 8:30 am

Program: 9 – 11:30 am


Afternoon Session

Check-in: 12:30 pm

Program: 1 – 3:30 pm


Each Scout who completes the 2.5-hour program will receive an exclusive Kalmar Nyckel Scout Patch. Recommended for Wolf and Brownie Scouts and older. (Must be in 2nd grade or higher.)


Bonus Junior Park Ranger Activity!

Before or after your Scout Day session, scouts are invited to participate in the Junior Ranger Program at Fort Christina Park, part of First State National Historical Park. Upon completion, all new inductees are awarded a wooden pin,

Troop Outings

We invite scouts to plan private outings to come aboard Kalmar Nyckel—an experience unlike any other. Our programs include interactive ship and Maritime Center activity stations that can be adapted to your specifice age group (for 2nd grade and above).
